Do I need a Master's in Social Work to apply for the Doctoral Program?

NO. In a recent evaluation of our students over the last 10 years, 13% had a master's in a related discipline.


Do I need to take both the GRE and MAT to apply for the Doctoral Program at MSASS?

No. Only the GRE is accepted and it has to be within the last 5 years of your application.


How important is the GRE in the decision-making process?

It is very important. The average GRE score (verbal plus quantitative) of entering students over the past five years is 1231.


What additional factors do you consider in the application process?

We consider your career goals and how well they match our program, your personal statement and research interest to make sure there is a good match between you and faculty research interest, your GPA and GRE scores, and your letters of reference. A committee meets and makes the decision on each application.
