FINANCIAL AID

Financial Aid

The Mandel School makes the difficult decision about where to earn a master's degree just a little bit easier by offering generous financial aid.  In 2008, students in our School's master's program received over $4.45 million in scholarships and stipends.  These scholarships are generously supported by alumni and friends.  We work closely with you on a one-to-one basis to make sure that those who want to receive an education at one of the top-ranked schools can afford to do so.

Scholarships and Fellowships

As soon as you are admitted, you will be considered for all scholarships and loans for which you are eligible. You do not need to submit a separate application to be considered for scholarships and fellowships at the Mandel School.  Merit scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated academic excellence as well as financial need.  Need-based scholarships are awarded based on information provided in your FAFSA and Case Financial Aid Application. Completion of the FAFSA is required for both need and merit based awards.

We are proud that the award level received in the first year will be continued in the student's second year, provided the student remains in good academic standing.  In addition, students are eligible to be nominated for 2nd year scholarships that range from $1,000 to full tuition.

Full-time Students

100% of Mandel's full-time students receive a field stipend and 96% receive scholarships in addition to the stipend.  This level of financial support enables the Mandel School to award full-time students a combined scholarship and stipend that covers approximately half the cost of tuition.

Intensive Weekend Students

Intensive Weekend students are also eligible for financial support.  The level of support depends on whether or not students also get support from their agencies.  Students finishing in a summer semester cannot receive financial aid due to federal regulations regarding semester length.  Students are encouraged to use all or part of their refunds from the previous semesters to pay for that last term.

International Students

International students in the full-time program are eligible for scholarships and stipends and if admitted must work closely with the International Students Office to obtain the necessary documents to study in the United States. Field Stipends

Every full-time master's student is guaranteed a field stipend, providing not only a rewarding experience in practice, but an experience that is practical in its rewards.

Stipends mean students are on-the-job from the start, applying knowledge they learn one week to the work they are doing the next.  By guaranteeing these stipends, we ensure that the agencies at which we place our students assign substantive work, giving them critical experience that will make them better practitioners and more attentive job candidates.
