The Mandel School offers three types of financial assistance to students admitted to the
Master of Social Science Administration (M.S.S.A.) program.

Field Stipends (Full -time Program)
The Mandel School in collaboration with the University Financial Aid Office administers a
variety of financial aid programs. Accepted students may be eligible for one or a combination of
the following financial aid programs:

Dean's Scholar Award - this is a tuition scholarship that is awarded to
incoming students. Selection will be made by the Dean on the recommendation of faculty and staff.
Dean's Scholarships are renewable.

Mandel Scholars Award - this is a tuition scholarship that is awarded to an
incoming student and returning student entering his or her second year. Selection will be made by
the Dean on the recommendation of faculty and staff. Students selected for this award are required
to prepare and present a colloquium on the topic of leadership and social work – open to all Mandel
School faculty, staff and students. Mandel Scholarships are renewable.

Merit Based Scholarship - these scholarships that are awarded to incoming
full-time students annually. Merit scholarship decisions are made in February. Recipients are
selected by the Admissions Committee. Merit-Based Scholarships are renewable.

Need Based Scholarships are based on academic merit and/or financial need. These
scholarship awards are made to incoming students enrolled in the full-time and intensive weekend
programs. Need-Based Scholarships are renewable.

ield Stipend - all students enrolled in the full time program earn a
monthly stipend through their required field education experience. These funds may assist
students in meeting their direct (tuition) and indirect (living) expenses throughout the academic
year.
