Case Western Reserve University is a member of OhioLINK, a consortium of 85 libraries of higher
education in Ohio. OhioLINK's goal is to provide easy access to information and rapid delivery of
library materials throughout the state. OhioLINK allows patrons to order materials online from
participating libraries for delivery and pickup at Harris Library.

Bookmarking an E-Journal Article
This page gives directions for bookmarking an article in the
OhioLINK Electronic Journal Center and
EBSCOHost databases such as
Academic Search Premier. The directions for the
EBSCO databases also give the off-campus URL that can be placed in front of an article
link. This off-campus URL is a useful tool for students who are having trouble accessing articles
on Blackboard because they are not running VPN. It allows students to authentic themselves for each
article.

OhioLINK Express Links
Ever wish you could get on OhioLINK and go right to the Electronic Journal or Research Database
you want without clicking on all those other web pages in between? Well now you can - with OhioLINK
Express Links. Express Links allow you to set up a profile of resources in OhioLINK that you use
frequently. Express Links preferences are saved to your computer as a cookie. Your Web browser must
be configured to accept cookies. Therefore, Express Links can only be activated from the computer
you saved your preferences to.
Activating your Express Link Preferences is easy. Go to the
OhioLINK main page
and click on the link
"My Express Links" or go directly to
http://www.ohiolink.edu/preferences.cgi
to set your Express Links.

Access to OhioLINK Research Databases
Many of the OhioLINK Research databases can be accessed from off campus. Any database that has
the OhioLINK logo after the title can be accessed once you have 'authenticated' yourself with
OhioLINK. To do this, go to the
Authentication Form
here or follow the link at the top of the Database List (it only appears if you need to
authenticate.) After entering your school, submit the form and fill in your Name and Social
Security Number (no spaces or hyphens). You should then be authenticated and returned to the list
of databases.
Note: This works for recent versions of most popular browsers, but it does not work with America
Online's default browser. If you use AOL, you will need to use another browser (such as Internet
Explorer or Netscape Communicator).
