The Office of Academic, Research, and Administrative Technology at the Mandel School of Applied
Social Sciences manages the purchase, development, and deployment of all related resources for the
Mandel School. The office also provides a strategic vision for all current and future information
technology resources within the School. The department works with the Case IT offices, ITS and
PerceptIS to integrate network, campus-wide and internal resources for the Mandel School.
Academic:
In conjunction with the faculty at the Mandel School, the Office provides technical support and
oversight for technology-enhanced academic and instructional resources. The following academic
resources are managed by the Office:
- Seven Technology Enhanced Classrooms (TECs)
- The Harris Library computer lab and mobile computer classroom
- Interview room and mobile interview station
- Video conferencing and teaching equipment
In addition, the Office encourages academic use of local and campus-wide information technology
resources to further the students' educational experience.
Research:
In conjunction with the Research and Training department, the Office promotes research at the
Mandel School, including the related Projects and Centers. Research is fostered and encouraged by
providing reliable, integrated local resources such as interview and video conferencing equipment.
The Office also develops web tools and services for the promotion of research papers, publications
and other related data.
Administrative:
In conjunction with Administrative Services, the office provides training and related assistance
to Mandel School faculty and staff covering the following topics:
- Use of Local Network resources (backups, file sharing, server resources, etc.)
- Use of Campus-wide resources as applicable within the Mandel School
- The Mandel School's Technology Enhanced Classrooms (T.E.C.)
- Video conferencing and online classrooms
Help Desk:
In conjunction with the Harris Library, the Office provides a local help desk to handle
questions, problems and requests from Mandel School faculty, staff, and students regarding computer
hardware or software, Internet connectivity, and related topics. The help desk is located in the
Harris Library Computer Lab. To contact the help desk, please call 216-368-5047.
